Renowned Irish psychic and New Age figure Zak Martin has announced plans to launch a holistic therapies referral service covering the whole of Spain.

The Holistic Spain Network will be launched on 26 July 2011 on HolisticSpain.net.

The Holistic Spain Network will publish the first comprehensive index of Spain's holistic resources - including therapists, teachers, training programs, holistic holidays and retreats, hotels and so on - in Spanish and English, and will also include information and advice on a range of health and holistic-related topics.

Martin, who has operated holistic clinics in both London and his native Dublin, previously produced the first British Directory of Holistic Practitioners, and his Complementary Health Clinic in London's Mayfair was the first of its kind in the UK.

Demand for holistic treatments has been growing steadily in recent years, and Spain, with its temperate climate and relaxed lifestyle, has become a mecca for holistic practitioners and for those seeking natural and alternative approaches to health and well-being. There are now hundreds of holistic centres, clinics and retreats throughout Spain, many of them operated by British expats, and thousands of practitioners working independently. A number of top Spanish hotels have also begun to offer holistic-orientated accommodation. In fact holistic health - and in particular health-orientated holidays and retreats - is now a growth industry in Spain, despite the economic crisis that has adversely affected most other sectors.

Zak Martin made headlines worldwide for his psychic detection work with Scotland Yard, his role as advisor to famous pop singers and TV personalities, his friendship with Princess Diana, and his founding of the Mayfair Clinic of Holistic Medicine and the London Psychic Centre at Baker Street. He is author of several books, including Quantum Perception, a scientific exploration of the mind and consciousness, and the international best-selling guide to psychic growth, How to Develop your ESP (Harper-Collins). He is published in Spain by EDAF. He has contributed to the growth of public interest in psychic, psychological, and holistic health matters by writing articles, giving lectures and taking part in TV and radio programmes dealing with these topics. During the time he lived in the UK he was a frequent guest on London's two main radio stations, LBC and Capital. He currently resides in Granada, in the south of Spain.
